Tax Web Enabled System

TAX WEB ENABLE SYSTEM
The Division of Employer Accounts has developed the Tax Web Enabled System (TWES) to provide employers, who are subject to the New Jersey Unemployment Compensation and Temporary Disability Laws, with around the clock access to their account.  An employer who has established a TWES account will be able to review:

  • Account status,
  • Current address,
  • Open balance,
  • Payment history,
  • Reporting delinquency
  • Employer and worker contribution rates,
  • Annual "Notice of Employer Contribution Rates," AC174.1 and
  • Review unemployment insurance benefit charges and protest charges

The TWES application has two access levels. The first access level is administrator, and the second access level is user. The administrator is the manager of the TWES account and has the ability to grant and/or remove user access. It should be noted that the administrator account must be established before the user account.

The Division of Employer Accounts recommends that the employer should never relinquish the “administrator” role. This ensures the employer maintains control of who can access the information provided in the employer’s TWES account.

The creation of a TWES account is a three step process. First, the administrator must create a portal/user account on the official web site of New Jersey – www.nj.gov. Second, the administrator must enter the employer’s credentials into the TWES authentication screen. These credentials consist of the employer’s twelve digit EIN, the employer’s name control and the year the employer began contributing unemployment insurance contributions. And third, enter the authorization code that is emailed after the employer credentials have been verified.

The establishment of a user account is optional. A user account can be established for a payroll manager, accountant, payroll service, authorized agent etc. The user must establish a portal/user account on the official web site of New Jersey – www.nj.gov; enter the employers twelve digit EIN and the employer’s name control. The user must also enter the authorization code that is emailed after the employer credentials have been verified.

It is important to understand that the administrator and the user cannot share the same My New Jersey portal/user account. This will make the TWES account inaccessible. Should this occur please contact the Division of Employer Accounts at (609) 633-6400 for assistance or email us at emplacct@dol.state.nj.us.
